''The Universe cannot resist authenticity'' Danielle LaPorte

Jessica Ainscough said ''don't let someone dim your lights because its shining in their eyes''. We accepted a contract , a life's purpose which we are destined to fulfill and yet we readily allow detractors to distract us from our dreams. It is often easy to be distracted by the noise in our daily activities and to look at another's life and wish for that one instead of our own. Experience has taught me somewhat harshly that ''not all that glitters is gold''. I wonder if we ever show our true selves and if yes then to whom? Brené Brown says that ''authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make everyday. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen''. A long and difficult journey resulted in me embracing and acknowledging my contract 'I am vulnerability' and fortunately when confronted with in-authenticity , I choose to allow my light to shine even brighter.

I observe , without judgement 'role models' who stand on platforms espousing sisterhood or leadership yet their behavior and actions are not aligned to their words. This behavior has taught me that it is perfectly ok out of respect for myself to walk away from toxic situations or inauthentic relationships. I have learnt that it is impossible for darkness to extinguish light, we were born to shine our light brightly regardless of how darkness tries to envelope us. I look forward to hearing about your personal experiences and would value your views on this critical topic. I remain inspired by Martin Luther King Jr who said ''darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate:only love can do that''. Remain authentic , deliberate and intentional, looking forward to our table of plenty discussions.
